Christian André Pettersen and Norway won bronze in the year Bocuse d´Or. France and Davy Tissot from restaurant Saisons in Ecully ran away with the victory, while Denmark and Ronni Vexøe Mortensen from Geranium in Copenhagen took silver.
– The goal is always gold, that is for everyone who participates here, says Christian André Pettersen, and adds that this was the last time he participated in Bocuse d´Or.
It is an enormous amount of work that is required and that is being laid off.
-The competition was very different this year, with a different points system and take-away box. That made it extra difficult. We just had to bet that what we did was right, but you never know, he says.
– This year this was a victory and there are many who have very much yet. It’s harder to say what was decisive today, but it’s good to be done.
With this, Norway’s 14 Bocuse chefs have so far won five gold, three silver and three bronze medals in the 15 (a total of 17) world finals Norway has shared in since 1987. Norway is thus the national with the most medals in competitions, followed by France which has a total of ten medals – seven gold against Norway’s five gold medals.
In this year’s competition, the winner France got 2428 points ahead of Denmark (2329 points) and Norway (2234 points). Iceland got 2231 points, while Sweden and Finland got 2202 and 2079 points respectively.
Singapore with Mathew Leong – who as general manager in Oslo at restaurant À L’aise, and brings with him the Norwegian chef and commissioner Sebastian Skauen Johnsen – came in 12th place with 1834 points.
