First it was the knee – now the head doesn’t really play along!
Sebastian Andersson (30) is still waiting for his first goal of the season at FC after six match days. In Frankfurt (1: 1) he slipped inches past the ball and goal debut in stoppage time in the first half. In return, Eintracht met …
That’s why Andersson is in the gate crisis!
Certainly a problem: Andersson’s head was long gone from FC weeks ago.
In memory of: The striker wanted to flee at the end of August. His goal: Turkey club Antalyaspor (BILD reported). Andersson was even there for negotiations. But the deal is in place.
The frustration remained: Andersson is behind Anthony Modeste (33) only Cologne striker No. 2.
Despite the action and the frustration, coach Steffen Baumgart (49) sticks to him: Andersson was used in all six league games (a total of 300 minutes), in Frankfurt he even played 90 minutes. Without success.
► Andersson (contract until 2023) was long considered a worry striker because his broken knee hardly allowed any missions, but is now fit. His exploitation of chances, however, caused concerns: 13 shots on goal, no goal, no template. Andersson even had two big chances. And he would have done the thing in Frankfurt at the best of times.
“When I see Seb’s action, where he slips past and in return we get it 1: 1. Of course, I wasn’t that happy, ”says Baumgart.
What’s next with Andersson?
Cologne’s coach believes in the Swedes and his qualities. Baumgart: “If he continues to work like this, he will continue to get his chances and will also score at some point. Seb needs to get into the graduate positions he needs now. We are also in demand. “
So that the goal crisis ends as soon as possible after the knee crisis …
