Lavrov: Russia will continue to establish peace between Iran and its neighbors – Politics
UN, 25 September. / TASS /. Moscow will continue to normalize relations between Iran and neighboring Arab states. This was stated on Saturday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the General Policy Discussion of the 76th session of the UN Commission.
“Russia will continue to contribute to the normalization of relations between Iran and its Arab neighbors,” he said. “Together with the agreement, we are striving for the earliest possible resumption of the full implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan to resolve the situation around the Iranian nuclear program.”
Lavrov that a comprehensive approach is required for the long-term stabilization of the entire region. “This is the goal of the updated Russian concept of ensuring collective security in the Persian Gulf zone, recently created as a document of the Security Council and the GA,” the minister added.
Since April, consultations have been held in Vienna between Iran and the international “five” (Russia, Great Britain, Germany, China and France) on the issue of restoring the Iranian international in its original form. The parties are discussing the topic of US American sanctions in the Islamic Republic. Representatives of the state – agreements also conduct separate negotiations with American emissaries without the participation of Iran. Initially, it was expected to complete the work at the end of May, then in June.
