Road workers will close half of the D6 motorway near Prague for more than a month
The belt will be repaired in the direction of Prague, which will be completely closed during operation.
This year’s wave of motorway restrictions will not escape the Karlovy Vary D6 either. On Monday, road workers will begin repairing the seven-kilometer section of the motorway between Nový Strašecí and Tuchlovice. The belt will be repaired in the direction of Prague, which will be completely closed during operation. It will be ridden only in the second lane, in a 1 + 1 arrangement. The work is to last 35 days and will cost 52 million crowns.
“The subject of the contract is, in addition to the repair of the asphalt concrete road, which already causes various serious failures in the incriminated section, also the modification of the unpaved curb and, according to the current state, also for the cleaning of ditches.” said the spokesman of the Directorate of Roads and Motorways (ŘSD) Martin Buček. The external barriers will also be replaced and supplemented, and they will also work on the southern branches of the Nové Strašecí level crossing (Exit 32).
“After the completion of the laying of new construction layers, one continuous whole motorway with a quality surface is created,” added Buček. In connection with the repair, the Stochov rest area with a Shell petrol station in the direction of Prague and the left-hand branches of the Nové Strašecí level crossing (exit in the direction of Nové Strašecí and entrance in the direction of Prague) will be closed. For closed branches, traffic will be conducted on detours.
