Ďolíček Football Stadium: Prague wants to renovate it, it will announce an architectural competition
After the approval of the memorandum, which includes the requirements of the city district for the appearance of the entire site, according to the councilor, the preparation of buildings around the stadium will begin. “At the same time, the administration of the architectural competition for the stadium itself will begin to be addressed,” said Prague councilor Vít Šimral (Pirates). The capacity of the stadium should be increased by reconstruction, to meet the standards for first league matches and matches in European competitions. Now the stadium does not fill them and the club has a long-term exception.
Opposite the stadium across Vršovická Street near Gymnázium Přípotoční is to create a new indoor sports hall. “Currently, we have a volume study, so it will be completed in the form of a project, for which there should already be an item of 25 million crowns in next year’s budget. We will make a project out of them and then we would like to build a hall in two or three years, “said the councilor. The grounds near the stadium should be also an apartment building, thanks to which, according to Šimral, the investment should partially return.
The city wants to obtain money for sports projects from the National Sports Agency, but there are possibilities in this direction, according to Šimral. “However, it is very difficult to set up the right cooperation, ideal models have not yet been found in the Czech Republic. however, the ambition is still to try, “said Šimral. He added that the city is planning a conference in the autumn, where PPP projects in sports should be the main topic.
The city began negotiations with the private owner about the transfer of Ďolíčko in 2011. The stadium was first wanted to buy the city district of Prague 10, but the previous management of Prague did not agree. In the last election period, an agreement was finally found that the city would buy the stadium. The Bohemians 1905 football club is playing in the stadium, and the uncertainty about the stadium has caused him problems for years.
