Prague changed the names of three tram stops, slightly shifting two
In addition to the new names, two stops have been slightly shifted to bring passengers closer to the pedestrian crossing.
As of today, there are three new stop names in the Prague Integrated Transport tram network. The change took place on the day that Dopravní podnik hl. m of Prague is introducing new timetables.
Three stops have a new name: Výstaviště Holešovice is now only Výstaviště. The Černokostelecká stop has a new name, Nové Strašnice, and the existing Nové Strašnice stop will be renamed Limuzská.
The changes are described in more detail on the website Prague integrated transport. In the case of Limuzská, the name will be unified with the bus stop in the street of the same name; at the crossroads, the tram stop is to be moved to the closer. This will create a new transfer point.
When renaming Černokostelecká to Nové Strašnice, the name of the district should better indicate the name of the destination. The Nádraží Holešovice stop in the direction from the center (direction Trojská) also underwent a transformation. The stop is permanently moved to the back of the boarding island for a shorter walking distance from the pedestrian crossing. A similar transfer also took place at the Střelničná stop in the direction from the center in the direction of Kyselov. The stop is permanently relocated to the rear of the boarding island for better user friendliness to passengers and a shorter walking distance from the pedestrian crossing.
A novelty is the establishment of the Museum for night buses stop in Legerova Street on the main road.
Today, one of the large tram closures in the Vyšehrad tunnel ended, but a new one began on the Edvard Beneš embankment.
