Vojtech: We do not anticipate a lockdown. However, if the situation worsens, we will reduce mass actions iROZHLAS
“We have to be vigilant, but we don’t see any worrying trend yet,” says Health Minister Adam Vojtěch (for YES) about the development of the epidemic in an interview with Radiožurnál. According to him, the coronavirus situation is different from last year, because the population then had no collective immunity. “The probability that, as in all countries west of our borders, the situation is deteriorating in our country is very high,” he admits.

The German Robert Koch Institute announced that Germany is on the threshold of the fourth wave of covidem-19 infection. How are we doing?
Good for now. Of course, we are monitoring the situation abroad today (on Friday) we have announced that from Monday we will transfer Germany to the countries in red, which means that the conditions for returning from Germany for the unvaccinated will be tightened.

This is in the context of a situation that is not only happening in Germany. We see that the wave is advancing throughout Western Europe. But it is true that so far we do not see any worrying trend in our data, whether it is incidents or numbers of hospitalizations.
Or we would have to be vigilant – don’t you think the situation is the end of last year’s holidays?
I completely agree, we have to be vigilant. We watch every day. The probability that the situation in our country – as in all countries west of our borders – is deteriorating is very high, and we assume that the number of cases of growth may increase in the coming weeks.
It can be described as a similar scenario last year, but with the past that last year there was zero immunization of society, whether it be vaccinations or disease.

Jaké poučení si lze – z hlediska pandemie – odnést z akce, kdy se do malého údolí Karlových Varů nahrnuly početné davy z celé republiky i zahraničí?
