Drivers traveling from Prague to Brno on the D1 will be restricted on Saturday – ČT24 – Czech Television
The restriction will start at midnight from Friday to Saturday and last for 24 hours. In the direction of Brno, all drivers will drive in only one lane, which will be even more narrowed. Two lanes will be available in the opposite direction.
Road workers will use the restrictions to close half of the clean-up, take away mobile barriers and prepare drivers for Sunday’s return. They will travel in two lanes to both Prague and Brno. In both directions, however, a limited speed of 80 km / h will apply. The section will be completely unrestricted in October.
Returning from vacation on the D1 motorway will be complicated by two other restrictions in the Vysočina region. One at Humpolec, the other at Měřín. There, drivers have to reckon with delays, both due to speed limits and convoys caused by heavy traffic.
Strengthening police controls
Due to returns from holidays and heavier traffic, the South Moravian police have already strengthened their controls. “We patrol mainly in traffic-exposed sections. These are the main motorway routes, main roads or those sections of roads where there are traffic restrictions and we assume that traffic complications may arise, “said its spokesman David Chaloupka.
Preventive action by police officers will last all weekend. The patrols focus on driving style, check that drivers are not on the phone and also focus on breath tests. The advantage is also a company motorcycle, thanks to which police officers can get to narrow places.
Increased traffic and bad weather on the roads of the South Moravian and Zlín regions were already evident on Friday. “We deal with traffic accidents the most, because with increased traffic we have more than usual,” said Michal Svoboda, Deputy Head of the Domašov Motorway Department.
