Prague will offer Afghan co-workers city apartments
“For Prague, we are ready to help with the reception of Afghan interpreters and their families. Similarly, we and the government have not yet found a common solution in the case of helping Belarusian dissidents, “on Monday by Twitter Mayor Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates), who wrote an SMS to the Minister of the Interior Jan Hamáček (CSSD) on the same day.
In March this year, Prague heard a request from the Ministry of the Interior and rented six city apartments to Belarusians affected by repression by dictator Alexander Lukashenko. The apartments are now fully occupied, mostly by whole families. Their tenants pay for the tenants themselves after first aid from the state.
The offer of the mayor of Prague was not the only one on the part of local government representatives. The deputy and mayor of Prague 2 also called for cooperation between the government and the regions in the integration of new Afghan exiles.
I now wish one thing and I ask all the governors, mayors and fellow mayors to do the same. If our AFG co-workers get to us safely, let’s help @jhamacek and its department with their integration. It will not be possible without us and our maximum deployment and help. Let’s show everyone that we can do it ??.

“I now wish one thing and I ask all the governors, mayors and fellow mayors to do the same. If our colleagues from Afghanistan get to us safely, let’s help Jan Hamáček and his department with their integration. It will not work without us and our maximum commitment and help. Let’s show everyone that we can do it, “Jana Černochová (ODS) appealed on Twitter.
It is our duty to help
Hřib’s coalition colleague Jan Čižinský (Prague himself) takes this step for granted. “Helping people at risk of torture and death in their country is our human duty. The government cannot make excuses that it is not possible to help these people when we are ready to cooperate, “said Čižinský.
Opposition, non-profit organizations, and a number of veterans from Afghan missions in recent days have criticized the government for its slow pace in helping Afghan collaborators and for not including collaborators outside government organizations or those with contracts with the Czech military in the past.
