The D11 motorway near Prague has finally opened in both directions

Originally, the demolition work was to end on Sunday morning, but it was complicated by a large amount of reinforcement not included in the documentation. The Ministry of Transport wants to find and punish the culprit behind the long delay.

The closing in Prague’s Horní Počernice started on Saturday at 17:00 and was supposed to end on Sunday at 09:00. In addition to a large amount of reinforcement, which did not match the original project documentation, complicated work high voltage cable. The workers discovered it in the supporting structure, it was also not included in any documentation and it was proud.

The delay was criticized by the Minister of Transport Karel Havlíček (for YES). “The deadline on the D11 must end as soon as possible and the culprit of this delay, which has lasted more than 24 hours on one of the transport arteries of the republic, should be responsible. At the same time, I would like to thank the Directorate of Roads and Motorways for solving the situation operatively and, in cooperation with the police, helping to mitigate the consequences of the situation, “said the Minister. According to him, the Ministry of Transport will initiate proceedings to financially punish the culprit.

The investor and builder is TSK Prague. The decision to allow the closure is marked as the person responsible for carrying out the construction work of COLAS CZ as, the ministry said.

TSK does not want to comment on the delay yet. “The company’s management will have a complete report prepared, which will include both the preparation of demolition and directly the demolition work and their execution, and the complete process of permitting processes,” TSK spokeswoman Barbora Lišková told ČTK. Only then will the administration comment on the case.

The closure of the D11 motorway complicated traffic in eastern Prague. At the detours, columns were formed on Sunday evenings, especially in front of large intersections or roundabouts. According to the police, there was also increased traffic on detours on Monday. According to information from the Prague Integrated Transport (PID), suburban buses charge up to an hour’s delay.

The bridge, which crosses Božanovská Street over the highway, was in poor condition. Construction of a new one will begin next year.
