Demonstration of hundreds of opponents of anti – coronavirus measures limited traffic in Prague Prague 1 | From the region Pražská Drbna
Several hundred people are demonstrating today in Prague’s Lesser Town Square for anti-coronavirus measures. For example, protest against so-called covid certificates. The protest is organized by, among others, the Free Block, but according to Facebook events, also the Let’s Get Children Back to School initiative.
“For freedom of movement” or “Stop vaccinating children”
A problem car with Czech flags was already driving around the square around 08:00, some trams had to stop for a while due to traffic. Later, the passage around Malostranské Square was restricted.
Protesters hold mainly Czech flags, some have transparent ones with the inscription “For freedom of free movement” or “Stop vaccinating children”. Dozens of police officers and members of the anti-conflict team are watching the demonstration. People in the square have been watching the projection of the Chamber’s proceedings since the morning.
The purpose of the demonstration was to protest against the approval of new electoral laws
Around noon, the chairman of the regional right-wing Workers’ Party of Social Justice (DSSS), Tomáš Vandas, made a speech. Representatives of this party will be in the parliamentary candidates of the Free Bloc, Vandas himself will not run for office.
Dozens of protesters gather at the same time in the morning in front of the barriers at Sněmovní Street, where the situation is being monitored by the police. Protesters started a deafening whistling and trumpeting. By 13:00 they had left the area.
The free bloc led by the non-attached MP Lubomír Volný stated in the municipal survey announced by the public assembly as a purpose of the demonstration a protest against the approval of the amendment to the electoral law.
