According to the main Prague hygienist Zdeněk Jágrová, this is caused by a large movement of people in the metropolis.

The worst numbers were found in Prague, which in the last week showed 20 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants. The closely connected Central Bohemian Region has half as much, from which many people go to the metropolis every day for work or shopping.

The remaining regions, especially the Moravian and Silesian ones, move in units of cases. And even those that still shone red on the map of daily increments of positive cases a few weeks ago. Therefore, their values ​​fell into the strictest disintegration section.

For example, the Moravian-Silesian Region, which had 244/100 incidents on 13 May, now has six cases. Prague had 100/100 on the same days and now has 20 cases. The metropolis has the worst incidents for most of June.

“The trend has really stopped, other regions of Prague have overtaken and this situation will last throughout the summer. Prague is simply specific, it has a lot of contacts, great mobility with people. So it cannot be assumed that there will be such a decline as in other regions, ”Jágrová commented for Novinky.

When asked what exactly caused the stopping of the number of new cases in Prague, when the numbers in the rest of the republic are falling for the most part, it continued as follows:

“There is nothing tangible behind this, there is no single source of infection, no large cluster, the situation is simply as it is. It was the same last year and unfortunately it will be the whole of this summer. “

According to Jágrová, tourism has not yet affected the situation in Prague. “There are some infected foreigners, but it is not that it is a predominance or a high percentage,” she added, adding that it is already being spread in Prague, similar to the rest of the republic, by the Indian delta mutation.

The number of new cases per week per 100,000 population is currently the government’s most important criterion for dismantling anti-coronavirus measures through packages.

Already all regions with their values ​​are in the last, sixth and have values ​​below 25/100 cases per week. The nationwide weekly incidence is now 57 cases per 100,000 population.
