The traditional cycling took place in the center of Prague, and representatives of embassies also stopped
Vera went through the center of Prague with a traditional spring bike ride, in which people, with the help of the police and volunteers, took part. This time, the event set at the stage of World Bicycle Day was supported by the representatives of a number of embassies. There were mountain and road bikes, shared bikes, two-wheelers, scooters, children’s wheelchairs and handbikes.
Participants in the event, organized by the AutoMat association, will gather in the central park in Pankrec. From there they set off along the main road to the Museum and, according to the dog Vclavsk nmst and nmst Republiky, to the island on the island. Approximately eight kilometers of route were covered by piblin in an hour and pl. In addition to the rules of cycling, the riders follow the sun and considerate breeding for other frequent traffic. For example, driving on the sidewalk is forbidden.
The aim of the event is to highlight the importance of urban cycling. Organizers point out that this method of transport is not only cheap, fast and practical, but also cultivates public space and fights the polluted air. We also want to remind our cyclists that the attractiveness, joy and usefulness of cycling depend on the quality, density and safety of the cycling infrastructure, said Michal Leheka on behalf of the organizer.
According to AutoMat, the number of cyclists in Prague increased by 30 and 67 percent during the coronavirus crisis, compared to the pedpandemic equivalent. The association intended to motivate as many people as possible to use the bike not only as a sports tool, but in everyday life. The project was also a “reward” for regular cyclists, who also got to cities where they would not go in normal traffic.
Behind the Nuselský Bridge, several representatives of the Trikolora, Svobodny and Soukromnk movements tried to block the crossing, according to which cycling is protected and politicized, and in the main town there is constant persecution and restricted motoring. The block was blocked by the police. The cyclist listened to unflattering remarks from several people who had to repent of their passage. In other words, however, the bell bells were supported by the sound and trumpet.
According to the organizer, the largest representatives of embassies in the history of the event arrived on bikes and with the flags of their states – the embassies of Denmark, Latvia, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, widows, Slovenia, Poland, Austria, Great Britain and Northern Ireland and representatives of the Czech branch. The ambassadors of Estonia and Finland also spoke in support of the event.
From Czech cyclists, grow about three quarters per bike at least once a week. The most popular are mountain bikes, on which half the people ride. This follows from a survey for bikero.cz, which was prepared by the Perfect Crowd agency. Last year, the police registered 5,258 stolen bicycles, and in a year or two it was 5,106.
