The largest Museum of Games grew up in Prague. It will delight retro enthusiasts and virtual reality lovers alike
“The Games Museum is a space where we combine the old with the new, ie older gaming technologies with the newer ones,” explains the owner of the Games Museum, Čeněk Cibien. “We have computers, game consoles, arcade machines, pinballs, everything from the oldest to the newest.”
The Games Museum first opened three years ago. At the turn of the year, however, she fought for her survival due to government restraints. Eventually, its owner moved from Prague’s Holešovice to more accessible and larger premises in the Šestka Shopping Center.

Over 500 regularly changing games at more than 200 gaming facilities await visitors, which is the widest offer in Central Europe.
“At the moment, we have over 350 games here on about 220 gaming devices,” says Čeněk Cibien.
The oldest games offered by the Games Museum date back to the early 1980s. “Boulder Dash is needed here, Dr. Mario, Tetris or Pac-Man, “says Čeněk Cibien. “The latest, on the other hand, are modern Japanese machines that are augmented virtual reality. The visitor sits inside, in the cockpit of the slot machine, you control, for example, a robot or a character from Star Wars. “
One of the biggest attractions is a novelty in the form of slot machines for up to eight players. There are also popular simulators of motorcycle races and shooters.
According to Čeňek Cibien, the Games Museum provides fun for the whole family. “Children from the age of six to the 90s are most interested in games,” he laughs. Technology enthusiasts, retro players and collectors will also enjoy themselves.
