Prague Sounds: Yo-Yo Ma: The Bach Project | Slavonic Island (Žofín)
Cellist Yo-Yo Ma will not perform at the Prague Sounds festival in Rudolfinum. At the artist’s request, we move the concert to the floating stage on the Vltava. The date and time remain the same. Yo-Yo Ma will play at Slavonic Island on September 4 at 7 p.m.
Placing the concert on a floating stage will enable an exceptional artistic experience not only for thousands of payers
spectators in the auditorium on the surface of the Vltava, but also thousands of other spectators, who will be able to experience the atmosphere of this exceptional evening from bridges, embankments, nearby islands, but also from rowboats and pedal boats directly on the river. The sound system will be covered by a technology that guarantees paying listeners on the Prague Sounds floating stage a hyper-realistic sound and that faithfully simulates the natural acoustics of a concert hall.
“Meditation together with Bach’s ingenious music in a phenomenal interpretation of world cellists such as Yo-Yo Ma, under the stars and on the river surface in the middle of historic Prague, promises a lifelong experience,” looks forward to festival director Marek Vrabec. Tickets for all concerts of the Prague Sounds festival are available on the praguesounds.cz website. Yo-Yo Movi fans who have already bought tickets to Rudolfinum will receive new tickets by e-mail.
