Raiffeisenbank will close the airport lounge in Prague, but some clients will not lose free tickets
Raiffeisenbank will close its airport lounge Raiffeisenbank Lounge, which it has in the departure hall at Terminal 2 at Václav Havel Airport in Prague. The last day it will be opened will be May 31, 2021. The Raiffka Lounge was acquired by Citibank, which then operated it for its premium clients in the Citigold segment.
However, existing Raiffeisenbank clients with Mastercard premium cards will not be lost. The bank arranged a service for them LoungeKeywhich will make them available to lounges around the world. E.g. Mastercard gold card holders have 4 tickets per year.
The reason why we will not continue to operate the RB lounge is its very low utilization since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, which is associated with a dramatic drop in air traffic. As an alternative, we have prepared the LoungeKey service for our clients who used the lounge. Thanks to it, Debit MasterCard GOLD and MasterCard World Elite cardholders have access to 1,100 airport lounges around the world. They still have the opportunity to use the MasterCard lounge at Prague Airport, which is located at Terminal 1. The same option remains the use of the MasterCard airport salons in Vienna and Bratislava.
, told the Purse Jan Figlovský, segment manager of Raiffeisenbank.
Holders of other Mastercard premium cards from Raiffeisenbank can therefore still use the free lounge service directly from Mastercard. Holders of Raiffeisenbank’s Visa gold cards will feel the change, and their free entry will end in June, as they will be charged in other salons.
The advantage of the Raiffeisenbank lounge was the direct entrance from the departure hall and its own pre-check-in inspection.
