Prague – Hundreds of inhabitants of the capital went to Prague’s parks in today’s sunny weather and people also sent in groups on the embankment in Podskalí. Most people did not wear veils, especially when they were sitting. For example, in Riegrovy sady in Prague 2, people started meeting after noon. This follows from the findings of ČTK reporters. Today, the City Hall of Prague 2 appealed to the government and the Minister of the Interior, Jan Hamáček (ČSSD), so that Praguers could travel to the districts of Prague-East and West. Mayor Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates) also asked for the same step. The minister did not listen to their requests.
People filled the Podskal alluvium on Tuesday afternoon. Today, they also sat mainly on the waterfront. Most people weren’t wearing veils or respirators, but according to the reporter, they mostly kept their distance, except for groups of people who arrived at the embankment together. The sales window and none of the restaurants were open here around 16:00.
In the center, the inhabitants of the metropolis did not go only to the embankment, but many of them headed to Střelecký Island or Kampa. They mostly sat in groups. According to an estimate by a ČTK reporter, about a third of people had veils, especially those who went somewhere. The pedal boats then returned to the Vltava. At Vyšehrad, people usually walked in pairs, larger groups did not sit here in the afternoon.
Hundreds of Praguers also went to Havlíčkovy sady, known as Grébovka, in sunny weather. Most of them walked or sunbathed without drapes. Already after noon, people also started meeting in Riegrovy sady, especially in a place with a view of the city. People sat here, ate and drank. They also went to the outdoor gym.
Groups of people could also be seen in the Hostivař Forest Park between Prague 11 and 15. The inhabitants of Jižní Město also went for a walk around the retention reservoir on the basket and in Trojmezí.
The Prague police officers are busy. According to spokeswoman Irena Seifert, people are frustrated by the long-standing restrictions. “This is accompanied by a mood in society, which is divided into those who are frightened and afraid, and those who disagree with the measures, boycott them or are already apathetic towards them. Police officers in the streets are now becoming lightning rods,” she said. . According to information shortly after noon, the city police have been dealing since Monday on nine stoves violating government measures against the spread of covid-19. The most common offense was failure to obstruct the airways, and people also violated the curfew after 21:00.
In recent days, more people have been staying in public spaces in the metropolis in connection with nice weather. The situation culminated on Tuesday afternoon and evening, when police officers took to the streets to check busy places and people for violating anti-epidemic measures, in particular non-compliance with the obligation to wear veils and a ban on drinking alcohol in public. For example, they intervened at the embankment, in Riegrovy sady or at the beer gardens in Ohrada in Prague 3. According to Eva Kropáčová, a spokeswoman for the Prague police, the police carried out about 1,600 inspections of this type on Tuesday, another 6,000 concerned a ban on movement between districts.
