Is a bear roaming near Prague? People are said to see him at the stop in Všestary
Does the bear really move in a relatively dense settlement and populated region just outside Prague? This is now exciting the locals. It is not advisable to take lightly the testimony of its possible occurrence in Prague-East a challenge that appeared on the official website on Saturday of the town of Mnichovice: encourages caution when walking in the surrounding countryside.
Any evidence of seeing a bear can be made in front of the Říčany police by the telephone number 974 881 730 – or it is possible to call the emergency number 158.
So far, the police have been searching in vain
The search for the bear began on Saturday after people reported its possible occurrence to police; they said they noticed something resembling a bear. However, no further information was known until Sunday morning. The first deputy mayor of Mnichovice, Margita Valentová, told the daily.
“Unfortunately, we don’t have any new information yet,” she said. She specified that on Saturday evening, the police called her to inform the town hall of the possible danger, because people had reported the occurrence of the bear. So far, there is no more than just announcements from citizens. “The patrol is being inspected, but the animal itself has not been seen,” Valent summed up the available information.
The fact that the situation did not develop during Sunday was confirmed in the afternoon by Deník police spokeswoman Monika Schindlová. The only knowledge about the possible presence of a bear comes from a civic initiative.
“We received the announcement that the animal was seen at the Všestary bus stops on Saturday around 7 pm. We had several patrols on the spot, there was also a hunter with a night vision device (night vision device), we also contacted veterinarians and the zoo, “Schindlová told Deník. With the fact that we find out that I didn’t succeed in anything specific – we won’t even find any clues.
Only historical records
In the wild, brown bears do not occur around the metropolis. Even in the far reaches. They are also rare in the border mountains – the others are mostly announced their stay at the border with Slovakia; in the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area. As a rule, they live practically unnoticed in forests, but it happens that when traveling for food, some animals begin to look for the proximity of human dwellings.
For example, the rampage of one who tore sheep and nothing apiaries in the autumn of 2018 attracted attention (and cases of “brazen” behavior of bears collecting garbage from garbage cans are also reported from Slovakia). Bears were also recorded in the Jesenice region near the border with Poland.
However, only historical records are known in the Czech regions. It cannot be ruled out that a bear could find itself in the vicinity of the metropolis after it escaped from an unregistered breeding – or it was even released into the wild by an owner who had a problem with the animal.
Bears for children and from children
The truth is that so far the really confirmed occurrence of the bear in public was known in Mnichovice, for example, in December 2003. Directly on Masaryk Square. At that time, an Advent event called Maybe St. Nicholas will Come took place there, which also included a children’s competition in carol singing – and the winner took home the plush media…
You will find a fairly fresh trace of the proven occurrence of bears in Mnichovice with a trace from February this year. At that time, the Mišas appeared in the local Home for the Elderly Blaník. Figurines of bears from the fairy tale Kubula and Kuba Kubikula they made children from the Mosaic for the local clients – and the residents of the home painted pictures for them again.
Rumors of the snake terrified uselessly
That fear can have big eyes is confirmed by the January experience from another corner of Prague-East; from Jenštejn. There, an extensive search for a large snake escaped breeder began right from the edge of the year: even experts initially talked about the fact that it could probably be a rattlesnake. With one breath, however, they assured that the reptile had either froze and someone had cleared the body, or was behaving somewhere warm; therefore therefore for searching garages.
In the end, it turned out that it was in fact a hunt for delusion. The snake affair seems to have been started by the fact that the little girl injured her leg while playing with wires protruding from the fence – any injury resembling a snake bite.
