Today, Prague Airport experienced one of the most positive days since the end of the emergency. Three carriers returned to Prague today, and other airlines that already fly to Prague have expanded their connections.
Qatar Airways’ Boeing 787 Dreamliner today was not only the first wide-body aircraft to fly to Prague after the end of the emergency, but also the first long-haul aircraft. Instead of two years a day as before the announcement of an emergency and a coronavirus pandemic, it will offer three direct flights a week. The line will be in operation on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, departure from Prague at 16:00, from Doha at 8:10 with arrival in Prague at 13:10.
A surprise in Prague was the aircraft of the Luxembourg company Luxair. The company confirmed the return just a few days before the first flight. So far, it will fly twice a week: on Friday with the De Havilland DHC-8,400 turboprop.
The Polish LOT started flying on the route from Warsaw to Prague. So far, it will offer a once-a-day connection to the Embraer E170.
The biggest resumption of flights for July is planned by the Smartwings Group. There will be a total of 25 lines. In the first week of July, Smartwings will renew regular flights from Prague to 7 Greek destinations: Heraklion, Kavala, Kefalonia, Corfu, Kos, Preveza, Rhodes, Zakynthos; 4 Spanish destinations: Málaga, Mallorca, Tenerife, Valencia; to Cagliari in Italy and to Burgas and Varna in Bulgaria. In the second half of July, Smartwings will also add flights to Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Madeira.
In the first week of July, Czech Airlines will renew flights to Odessa, Rome, Barcelona, Gothenburg, Madrid and Helsinki. Flights to Copenhagen will resume from July 24.
