There will be only one lane for cars around the trams to Zdib. Prague is preparing more auditors
The line to Zdib should be about five and a half kilometers long. The project also includes terminals and a P + R car park at the final stop in Sedlec, where there will be a tram loop. There are also plans to have four bridges on the line.
The built car park and parking house should have a total capacity of 1260 places, reminded President Jaroslava Pokorná Jermanová (YES), which she sees as another expected benefit.
The main one, of course, is that tram traffic is intended to make road transport much easier, in an area that is often congested; the buses that passengers are carrying now are also stuck in them. “It is a building that is very important to us,” the governor emphasized – recalling that the region was at its birth – and will contribute financially to it. “I am glad that it is closer to implementation again,” the politician said in a press release.
Trams should run on the D8 motorway from 2023, but this does not seem to be very useful at the moment. According to the first estimates, the price was set at approximately two billion crowns. The City Hall has the Kobylisy – Zdiby line included in the planned development of the tram network until 2030. Recent repairs to the route at Sídliště Barrandov were used by the transport company to build tracks to prepare the tram route to Sliven.
It will not be necessary to occupy front gardens
In the case of the first “non-Prague” tram, Central Bohemian councilors opted for the version marked with number 1 when choosing from the three proposed variants – and according to available reports it is the one that for most of the route envisages maintaining only one lane for motor vehicles; the other two offer combinations of lanes for car traffic (which, however, would probably mean interventions in the green belts and probably also demands directed to the use of some private gardens and other land in front of houses).
The fact that the governor’s office recommends a form with one lane for cars in each direction of travel is also confirmed by Monday’s statement of the regional authority. A tram strip 7.5 to 8 meters wide is to be created between the lanes. Before the intersections, however, the road will be widened to two lanes somewhere.
Deputy Governor Miloš Peter (ČSSD), who is responsible for the environment and agriculture, pointed out selected options 1: “There will even be a partial improvement in the acoustic situation in a relatively densely populated area along the road in Prague 8-Kobylisy, Prague-Dolní Chabry and the municipality of Zdiby. “
The paper can withstand everything
The municipal company Ropid, which organizes public transport in Prague and its surroundings, shared information about another slight shift in the preparation of the tram line on the official Facebook page. In the discussion, many ironically note that “paper can withstand everything” in allusion to the unclear date of implementation. Some even doubt the usefulness of the project, because for many people from adjacent municipalities, the new tram connection would only add one transfer if they needed to get on the metro.
Ropid also told passengers how the check-in should take place in the car – the tram would be approached through all the doors and stops outside Prague would be slowed down to the 1st outer zone: “Only there will be an increased incidence of auditors’ inquiries to ensure sufficient tariff discipline.”
