West Ham, Marseille, Nice… The (busy) program of the Academy
The competition continues for the different teams of La Diagonale. As the Elite Group travels to England, the U19s and U17s each have a top game in their respective leagues. Overview.
It’s been a real week of shocks for the different teams of the Academy! A few days after their respective victories in a friendly match against SCR Altach (0-3) and against Nancy (0-3), in the round of 16 of the Coupe Gambardella, Damien Perrinelle’s Elite Group and Frédéric Barilaro’s U19s once again have two great matches to play this weekend. As for them, the U17s of Manu Dos Santos returned to competition with a derby on the program. 📅
A shock against West Ham for the Elite Group
After Manchester United, Arsenal and Brighton, the Elite Group led by Damien Perrinelle is preparing to play its fourth opposition in the Premier League club field. Large winners of the Austrians of Altach (0-3) this Sunday, the teammates ofEnzo Baglieri will try to win a second time across the Channel after the prestigious success obtained on the lawn of Old Trafford last November (0-2).

The U19s opposed to Marseille
Return to the championship for the men of Fred Barilaro. After having brilliantly disposed of Nancy in the round of 16 of the Gambardella Cup (3-0), the young shoots of the Academy find their daily bread, fifteen days after their success obtained on the lawn of Blagnac (0-2). On this occasion, the U19s face… Olympique de Marseille for a top-of-the-table clash.
Facing third-placed Olympians with a two-point lead over the Red and Whites, the mission is simple: win to climb on the podium, and at the same time sign a fourth victory in five games, all competitions combined. Dage!

A derby for the U17s
After a week-long mini-break, the AS Monaco U17s are back in competition this weekend. And how ! Under derby against OGC Nice awaits the partners of Pope Cabral. Undefeated in 2023 and on the strength of two consecutive successes against Grenoble (2-1) and Saint-Priest (1-0), the players of Manu Dos Santos are moving to the lawn of neighboring Nice this Saturday for a shock at the top.
Indeed, the Red and White, second in the standings, can put the Aiglons, third with a single point behind, at a distance. In the event of victory, AS Monaco could therefore take a four-point lead, but also take first place in the championship in the event of AS Saint-Étienne’s defeat!
