Floorball players from Střešovice defeated Bohemians and dominated the basic part of the super league
Střešovice have a difference of 17 points just ahead of second-placed Mlada Boleslaví, who still have five games to play. The reigning champion won in Prague over Sparta 6:5.
Sixteen-time Czech champion Tatran, who has been waiting for a triumph since 2015, won the regular season for the first time since the 2013/14 season and for the fourteenth time overall in the 30th year of the top competition.
“We mainly have to prepare perfectly for the playoffs, so we will subordinate everything to that. Of course, a record in the regular season is an attractive thing, but we have a completely different goal. That is in April at the O2 arena,” said Tatran’s assistant coach Luděk Beneš. Coach Milan Fridrich’s men are eager for success in the super final, in which they lost to Mladá Boleslav 1:2 in extra time last year.
The sovereign leader of the competition avenged Bohemians’ defeat in the semi-finals of the cup on December 22, when they lost 3:4 in extra time. Marek Beneš has four points for a hat trick and one assist, and Jonáš Kreysa also scored three goals.
“He was of high quality. There aren’t many of them in this game. We copied the performance against Bohemka from the Semi Cup a little bit. I think we were surprised that he played the ball well against us. We had a hard time getting into it, but today we finally did it I think we were better towards the end of the second and especially in the third period,” forward Marek Beneš said.
Mladá Boleslav led Sparta in the 27th minute already 6:1, but the home team made the match even more dramatic. Milan Tomašík scored three points for a goal and two assists for the winners. Not even two hits and one pass by the most productive player and top scorer in the history of the domestic competition Jiří Curney, who came from Mladá Boleslav last summer, helped Sparta to win.
Chodov moved up to fifth place ahead of Sparta, who won 7:4 at noon in Karlovy Vary. Jakub Dufek and Marek Vávra contributed three points for two hits and one assist.
Sokol Královské Vinohrady won an important match in the fight for the preliminary round of the playoffs in Liberec 9:6 and moved from 11th to 10th place by a score ahead of Česká Lípa. Vojtěch Klápa contributed to Prague’s success with four points for a hat trick and one assist.
Česká Lípa lost to the seventh Black Angels in Prague 6:8. Jakub Boček scored three points for two goals and one assist for the winners. Eighth FBC Ostrava beat penultimate Pardubice 7:4, Marek Bräuer and Šimon Kuczera contributed to this with two passes.
