The biggest extra-league charity project Sparta pays tribute has fulfilled its purpose. Not only did Sparta’s hockey players win again after a year in both special matches, but above all they managed to collect another record amount. The only Prague extra-league club will contribute to the Police and Firefighters Foundation, the Military Solidarity Fund and the Association of Medical Rescue Services of the Czech Republic.
Two extraordinary matches were watched by an almost full O2 arena, where thousands of representatives of the Integrated Rescue System and the Army of the Czech Republic found their way there.
In front of the cameras of O2 TV Sport, they were also part of a special pre-match ceremony not only on the ice surface of the O2 arena, where Sparta’s ice hockey players entered in jerseys with reflective elements, surrounded by firefighters, rescuers, policemen and soldiers.
On Sunday, January 22, they played against the BK Mladá Boleslav team and on Wednesday against HC VERVA Litvínov, and won in both matches. Sparta hockey players entered both matches in special jerseys with reflective elements reminiscent of firefighters’ emergency suits.
Visitors to the O2 arena had the opportunity to view and appreciate 5 selected firefighting interventions, which were projected onto a cube in the form of medallions. They applauded not only the firefighters, but also the soldiers, paramedics and policemen who put their lives on the line for all of us.
The match between Sparta Praha and Verva Litvínov then started with a ceremonial throwing of a bull at the head of the Fire and Rescue Service. city of Prague brig. gene. Ing. became the chairman. Ludek Prudil.
Sparta prepared the breaks between the matches of the tournament, in which the hockey teams of the IZS and the Army of the Czech Republic competed against each other. On Wednesday, hockey players of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic played for gold with the hockey team of the Army of the Czech Republic and became the winning team of the tournament.
They received a beautiful gesture from the Chief of the General Staff of the ACR, Major General Ing. Karel Řehka, who came to the dressing room after the match to congratulate them on their victory.
The Fire and Rescue Service prepared technology for the visitors of the match in front of the O2 arena – hardened CZS 15/2000 S3 (TRITON) and CZS 40/12000 S3 (TITAN) sprayers, and promo stands inside the O2 arena, where they could view a drone special from the South Moravian Regional Fire Service and the fire brigade drones.
They could try out 3D glasses with examples of a fire in the České Švýcarsko National Park, and the little ones could compete and gain new knowledge in the field of fire prevention.
Wednesday evening ended with a live auction of Jakub Kovář’s jerseys and equipment.

Firefighters, to whom this year’s event was primarily dedicated, also won the component hockey tournament. On Wednesday, over fourteen thousand spectators applauded them not only for their hockey performances, but also for how they, together with other components, managed last year’s giant forest fire in Bohemian Switzerland.
Maybe that’s why special jerseys with firefighter uniform motifs with a luminous “S” became a big hit at auctions.
In the online auction, Adam Polášek’s playing jersey was auctioned for the largest amount, for 21,500 crowns. In the live auction, the most money was collected for Miroslav Forman’s dress (110,000 crowns) and Jakub Kovář’s goalkeeper set (300,000 crowns).
The club’s partners also made a significant contribution to the total proceeds, and not only by allowing the match to be played in special jerseys with monochrome advertisements.
The general partner, betting office Fortuna, donated 70,000 crowns to the total proceeds. The Czechoslovak Group, in turn, dedicated to the Donio.cz server wonderful experiences with the car manufacturer Tatra Trucks or the company ELTON hodinářská.
