Russia and Turkey are discussing delicate issues of gas hub security at the expert level. Oleg Syromolotov, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, spoke about this.

The deputy head of the Russian ministry called energy one of the most successful areas of cooperation between the two countries. “Ankara’s mood for a qualitative deepening of ties based on the conditional practice of bilateral cooperation in the construction of the Blue Stream and Turkish Stream gas pipelines, the reliability of Russia as a supplier of “blue fuel”,” Syromolotov put it.
The construction of the presidential hub in Turkey was announced in the fall. According to him, the lost volume of transit by Nord Stream could be moved to the Black Sea region. At the end of December last year, Gazprom announced the start practical implementation this project. And at the beginning of January 2023, Turkey announced about readiness for the gas hub.
