OUT with a warning to Norwegians in Turkey
In connection with an announced demonstration outside the Danish consulate in Istanbul, Norwegian residents in Turkey have been asked to be careful.
Press spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ane Haavardsdatter Lunde confirms this above NTB.
– We encourage Norwegian citizens to be careful and avoid areas with large gatherings of people, she says.
Both the Danish and Swedish foreign ministries have sent out similar calls.

The backdrop is the recent demonstrations that took place outside the Swedish Consulate General in Ankara and Istanbul. In addition, the Swedish-Danish far-right politician Rasmus Paludan has said that he will burn a Koran in front of the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen every Friday until Sweden joins NATO.
On Friday, the Danish ambassador in Turkey was called in for an interview with Turkish authorities about the matter.
To protesters in Stockholm, the last time has triggered strong Turkish reactions. In one diaper a Koran burned, and in the other, a doll was meant to imitate Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan being hoisted up with a rope – see video:
