Teodora Taskova became the tourist attaché of Bulgaria in Istanbul
Teodora Taskova will become Bulgaria’s tourist attaché in Istanbul, the director of the International Directorate at the Ministry of Tourism, Georgi Alipiev, announced today. He spoke at the round table “Opportunities for cooperation between Bulgaria and Turkey in the field of health care and balneology”, which is being held in Istanbul within the framework of the International Business and Investment Forum, organized by the Bulgarian Investment Agency.
Georgi Alipiev introduces Teodora Taskova during the round table.
The moderator of the panel is Burhan Nemutlu, Chairman of the Management Board of the Bulgarian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTTIK) and owner of Regnum Hotel.
There are four seasons in Bulgaria and as investors we can work in most months in the country, said Nemutlu, quoted by BTA.
“Near Bansko is the village of Banya. There I saw that there was potential in relation to mineral waters, and then we made a spa. Thanks to this investment, we have helped the entire region in terms of workforce,” Nemutlu pointed out, adding that his recommendation to colleagues is to think more holistically and concretely about their investments.
When it comes to winter and summer tourism, something is distinct, but with spa tourism, something is different, he also pointed out.
Milena Ivanova, owner of the “Sevtopolis” hotel, in turn said that Bulgaria is in second place in Europe in terms of wealth of mineral springs, over 600 of which are used.
“There are cold waters – with a temperature of 12 degrees, to very hot waters. Characteristic of our waters is their deep origin. We can add other natural factors, including estuarine mud,” said Ivanova.
She pointed out that Bulgaria is a large producer of essential oils and supplements, that there are over 1100 herbs in the country.
We have four seasons, we have many resorts that have been known in Europe for more than 100 years and have great experience in balneology, Ivanova pointed out and also said that another factor (for the development of tourism – author’s note) besides natural resources is highly qualified footage.
Dr. Venelina Filipova Atanasova, manager of “Ajibadem City Clinic”, also spoke at the panel.
The project started in 2016 with the entry of the “Ajibadem” brand in Bulgaria. Since then, the group has owned three medical centers. Overall, the hospital group has more than 1,000 beds, Dr. Atanasova said, adding that the hospitals perform more than 400,000 examinations, more than 65,000 operations and more than 22,000 procedures annually.
The new brand shows that it is possible to combine the best medical practice of Turkish doctors, implementation of high technologies in diagnostics and treatment and a combination with extremely expert knowledge and clinical skills of doctors, etc. specialists. In the healthcare industry, high technology is a prerequisite for success, but without good infrastructure and the participation of the human factor, success will not come so easily, she pointed out.
Dr. Atanasova also said that the field of health care carries your specificity, pointing out the great differences in the health care systems in Bulgaria and Turkey.
The mayor of Kardzhali Hasan Azis, of Vidin – Tsvetan Tsenkov and of Svishtov – Gencho Genchev took part in the round table.
Hassan Aziz pointed out that Kardzhali is located on an important strategic road – on the Trans-European corridor number 9.
Kardzhali is famous not only in Bulgaria, but also in Europe, since we imposed the city “as the capital of tolerance”, he pointed out.
The very location of the city, which is located in one place between Edirne and Komotini, is also very important for business. The path of Turkish investments passes through Kardzhali, Azis added.
He said the city ranks fourth in the country in building permits issued.
In recent years, the number of foreign investments in Kardzhali has definitely increased. Two sectors are developing very quickly – construction and mechanical engineering; followed by automotive and tourism, Azis pointed out and added that the municipality of Kardzhali is very active in attracting foreign investments.
The mayor of Vidin Tsenkov pointed out that in the area there are some of the most healing waters in Bulgaria (hydrogen sulfide and potable) and one of the most important goals of tourism there is the development of balneotherapy.
The mayor of Svishtov Genchev informed the guests at the round table that his town has a centuries-old history. He pointed out that the municipality of Svishtov has discovered three mineral springs with rich water quality.
The municipality, together with BAI, will guarantee your investments, adds the mayor of Svishtov.
