Tanks “Abrams” and “Leopard” Russia can oppose robots “Marker”. What is known about them
Confront foreign-made tanks, including the transfer of Ukrainian demands, Russian Marker robots. About this RIA Novosti told ex-general director of Roskosmos and head of the special squad of military advisers “Tsar’s Wolves” Dmitry Rogozin. What is known about robots “Marker” – in the material RTVI.
What is “Marker”
The development of the Marker robot began in Russia in 2018. She was engaged in this research and production association “Android Technology”, which developed the anthropomorphic robot “Fedora”, together with the Advanced Research Foundation (FPI). The project of a universal platform for combat robots was defended in January 2022.
The company claimed that the three-ton robotic complex could be equipped with a variety of applications: machine guns, loitering vehicles and transport projectiles. It can also carry military equipment, medical supplies and unmanned aerial vehicles – cassette and tethered.
According to RIA Novosti, the Marker’s turret can rotate 540 degrees in one second, accompanying the target. Also, according to the publication, anti-tank missile systems, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns “and other fire weapons” can be installed on the robot.
TASS wrote that “Markers” combine striking target types of texture due to two small drives for installation, mainly right and right from the optoelectronic instrument unit, observation, capture of the object and its tracking are provided.
How can he work on the battlefield
According to Android Technology, the robots operate both in the radio control system and offline, as well as force rivers, however, so far the successful experience of overcoming a water barrier has been only for reservoirs with a depth of 0.8 meters. You can control Markers with two distances up to five kilometers; special training for this mark is not required.
“Marker”, according to the manufacturer, can move autonomously and recognize objects on the field using artificial intelligence technologies and a modular multi-spectral system from a technical point of view. For this system, in the detection system, object detection in visible and detected detection, and automatically set it in the field. Target designation of robot detection objects, as changed Rogozin, can develop at a distance of at least 15 kilometers.
“For example, as soon as the supply of Abrams and Leopard tanks to the troops begins, the Marker will be suitable electronically and will be able to automatically detect and hit ATGMs. (anti-tank guided missile – ed.) American and German tanks,” Rogozin said.
When moving, “Marker” collects information about all objects within a radius of 100 meters and, based on income data, automatically plots and corrects the route. At the same time, according to Rogozin, the robot can independently select targets by priority. In 2022 “Android technologies” murder about the possible installation of laser systems on the Marker that would hit drones.
“We’ll get there, he spotted a T-64, an armored personnel carrier on the line of contact, and some foreign equipment is empty. Then the robot independently selects a target according to priority – which of them is the most significant – and checks its probable fire means, ”he said.
Tests “Marker”
The first left-wingers, according to the Marker tests, passed at the Vostochny cosmodrome as a security robot. Rogozin said that the complexes can be used as part of security structures to ensure the security of state authorities. During the tests, the robots patrolled large spaceports, identified and pursued violators. The publication of vehicles is widely known at Army-2022.
Also demo processes tested in a group where all five platforms were involved. Robots are independent waterfalls targets in the group and listened to the optimal firing positions, as well as independently reacted to changes in the combat situation. During these tests, the robots were detected by two drones – for mapping and targeting and for striking.
“We taught the Marker to distinguish differences and, accordingly, shoot only at those targets that emit an immediate danger, while not hitting those objects that are on the firing path,” Oleg, head of dedicated natural centers for the development of technologies and basic elements of robotics FPI Martyanov.
Also, in the course of almost all tests, the robot successfully coped with a six-hour patrol of the area, covered 40 kilometers off-road, 60 kilometers on the ground and hard surfaces, moving around a conditional settlement, declaring to the FPI.
