Documentation for the planned reconstruction of the line from Litoměřice to Ústí will be prepared by SUDOP Prague and Strabag Rail
In two years, the reconstruction of an important railway route running along the right bank of the Elbe River in the Ústí Region is to begin. The start of the actual implementation of the works in the section between Litoměřice and Ústí nad Labem will be preceded by the preparation of documentation for joint zoning and construction management, the Railway Administration has now selected the documentation. The company SUDOP Prague together with Strabag Rail became it.
A section with a length of approximately 25 kilometers will undergo reconstruction, and the construction of new platforms and barrier-free access in all stations and stops will benefit passengers. The estimated total costs reach 7.6 billion crowns, the implementation of the works should take place between 2025 and 2028.
The main goal of the construction is the reconstruction of the track section Ústí nad Labem-Strěkov – Litoměřice lower station at the existing stop for the current and future needs of passenger and freight rail transport. An underpass will be built at the Velké Žernoseky station, which will provide non-level access to the newly built island platform. At the existing Sebuzín station, the platforms will be abolished, a new stop called Sebuzín-Církvice will be built in a more favorable location near the center of the village. The city is planning to renovate the platform at the Libochovany and Litoměřice stops.
The entire track section is subject to reconstruction, including selected bridges and railroad crossings. Between Velké Žernoseky and Sebuzín stations, a new Kalvárie branch line is proposed, which will allow trains to cross from one track to another and thus respond operatively to the current operational situation. In selected stations, the tracks for the freight train will be extended by 740 meters. The works will also include the reconstruction of the security equipment.
