The RFU and UEFA held a meeting on the issue of the return of Russian teams and clubs to the conference and agreed on the procedure for the meeting, RBC Sport reported in the RFU communications service.
“The working meeting between the RFU and UEFA has been covered. The key theme was the possibility of teams and clubs returning to the competition. The parties agreed on the procedure for holding events and agreed to continue contacts. The next meeting with the participation of representatives of the RFU and UEFA will be held in the presence, ”the RFU said.
Earlier, Sky Sports reported that UEFA does not intend to return the Russian team suspended since February 2022 to the competition until the special operation in Ukraine is completed.
Also, according to the newspaper, Russia will be deprived of the UEFA Super Cup, scheduled for August in Kazan.
Earlier, the RFU agreed with UEFA to create a working group on returning to tournaments. Before the New Year, the RFU is considering graduating from UEFA and moving to the Asian Confederation (AFC).
