Russia and Arabian Monarchies Develop Strategic Mutual Understanding
Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov sought to achieve a broader political and economic understanding between Moscow and the Gulf countries, noting that the parties are considering and promoting the development of relations between themselves. This is reported by the newspaper Alkhaleej Online.
Mikhail Bogdanov, who is also the special representative of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin in the Middle East and Africa, stated:
“I would like to get feedback from Moscow, which believes that relations with the Arab countries, especially with the Gulf countries, have infected very successfully.”
Regarding the energy crisis, Bogdanov noted that collective action at the meetings of the OPEC + Alliance is a guarantee of a balance between supply and demand in the market, an agreement that Russia is in contact with the consequences of processes such as Saudi Arabia and the stable markets of the Arab world as a whole.
As previously reported by the agency EADaily Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov it is stated that not a single Arab country has joined the sanctions against Russia:
“None of the Arab countries has joined the sanctions against Russia, despite unprecedented and harsh pressure from the West.”
Lavrov recalled that the Arabs are “old and sincere friends” of Russia, both in the field of bilateral and multilateral relations. The Russian Foreign Minister, who takes part in cooperation with Moscow and countries with countries, usually meets with the pan-Arab organization the League of Arab States (LAS) and with the Arabian monarchies that are part of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC).
