Mid-Century, a bourgeois style that goes beyond fashion
A delicate style half century, tempered by contemporary and eclectic incursions to create that true, but never flashy, elegance inspired by the houses of the last century. A style lesson for a mise en place that has an aristocratic elegance made of precious and refined materials mixed with timeless furnishings. From the aesthetics of the 50s and 60s to which balanced and refined Viennese stylistic influences and some Seventies references are integrated everything must be designed to welcome and not to amaze with special effects. The era of heralded opulence and redundancy is over, after years of excesses here is the return to true elegance, concreteness, the one that does not feel the passing of the years. And so the choice of furnishings inevitably falls on reassuring pieces with a high formal value.
The materials to reproduce the mid-century style
Even with the colors you don’t want to exaggerate, better to focus on white and achromatic made timeless if combined with a touch of brass chosen in its opaque and forest green version. For this we were inspired by the photo with the center the Platium table by Oscar and Gabriele Buratti for Gallotti & Root, to find the right materials through the chosen location to create this interesting mood. We started from the candid white used for walls and ceilings to offer you Spaghetti by Salvatori, which in his version White Carrara it offers an elegant and unusual texture capable of giving great brightness to the entire environment and the natural play of light and shadow that are created through its surface. We matched it in brass with handcrafted satin finish made by De Castelli usable for indoors and outdoors and to the parquet of the collection Coat of arms of Federico Peri for Giacobazzi which recalls the tradition of the great historic houses. The tiles, which measure 58 x 35 cm, are characterized by a lozenge shape in two contrasting essences – overe and wengé – which combined together create a decidedly interesting decoration. And finally we have selected the velvet Spritz of Rubelli, in pure cotton which has an iridescent effect, obtained thanks to a particular printing process which consists of a very calibrated overlapping of color tones with as many as five different steps. The result is a very special velvet, with an almost antique flavour.
