Earlier ending parties at the front door. A hug, a “It was nice with you”, a wave, that’s it. Today, parties don’t end the next day either. Because today parties are prepared.

Why? Because they are prepared too. And in the corresponding Whatsapp groups. They are called “Neighbors celebrate”, “The Wild Seven”, “Gin Tasting”, “Ollis Fest”, “The Fidelen Fifties”, “The Gildet” or something like that. Even before the festival, there is a lively exchange in such groups about what to bring (“We’ll take care of the chickpea salad”, “I’ll bring baguette”, “The raclette comes from us”, “We’ll provide drinks”) and arrival times (“We’d be happy to change 19 o’clock”).
Since the celebration is usually celebrated afterwards powerful
During the celebrations, there is mostly silence in the celebration group concerned. But after the party, things really get going again there: the party is usually celebrated afterwards in a big way.

We have had the recent pleasure of being part of a celebration group without being able to attend the celebration itself. A given earlier commitment to another birthday party took precedence. We were in the virtual celebration group, but didn’t celebrate.
The joy of the others about the successful celebration the next day was almost limitless. “Great party”, “Thanks for everything”, “Really great”. “Huhu, that was great with you,” said the Whatsapp group. There were also photos of tables with glasses and leftovers on them. Somewhere in the background people were lolling about out of focus. A grandiose party should have looked different.
Whereby: If no one likes to take proper photos anymore, it might have been quite funny after all. Anyway, we were a bit jealous.
