The fight against gender-based and sexual violence is designated in priorityin the Calvados like everywhere in France. “Between 2018 and 2021, they increased by 60% in Calvados“, emphasizes Thierry Mosimann. We awarded 1,518 in 2021 alone.
Social workers recruited
A departmental plan has been put in place to better support victims.

Seven places of remoteness, already full
Furthermore, the Prefecture wants to continue theexperimentation acquired in 2022, which consisted of remove perpetrators of violence from the family home.

Seven dwelling places have been put in place to accommodate the perpetrators of domestic violence. “They are already full,” says the prefect. The objective is to double our capacity in 2023 to have 15 housing units”.
In these apartments, the perpetrators are monitored by officers from the penitentiary probation and integration service (SPIP), to avoid recurrences.
