police and firefighters pass at the right time
The deployment of firefighters and police at 12, boulevard du Lycée, in Annecy, this Monday, January 23 at the end of the morning, was substantial but not synonymous with seriousness. The conflagration of an electric wire in front of a large villa bordering the road is the cause.
Twenty people evacuated, time to remove doubts
It was a national police patrol passing by that spotted the electric arc formed just under the roof of the house. Coincidentally, a van of firefighters returning to the Annecy barracks was following them. Everyone stopped to remove doubts and avoid a fire starting which could have had more serious consequences, if the wire had ended up igniting and reaching the wooden edge strip of the house.
Twenty people inside the period villa, housing the Alliance française d’Annecy, a French school, were evacuated during the intervention. The latter had indeed deplored a few untimely power cuts at the end of the morning, without finding an explanation.
They were able to understand where they came from. After inspecting the burnt wire and securing it, the firefighters left the scene shortly before 12:30 p.m.
The animation broadcast close to the entrance to the Berthollet high school did not escape many students entering and leaving the establishment at noon.
