In the long term, Bulgaria has the potential to triple the number of tourists from Israel – From the day
In the long term, Bulgaria has the potential to triple the number of Israeli tourists, Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov said after signing an agreement on cooperation in the sector with Israel’s Tourism Minister Haim Katz.
The agreement envisages Bulgaria and Israel to emphasize the exchange of expertise and knowledge, as well as investors in the sector. The two countries will deepen their cooperation within the framework of the World Tourism Organization, as well as with other international organizations.
The Minister of Tourism of Israel, Haim Katz, is on a two-day working visit to Bulgaria. Tourists from Israel before the pandemic were about 200 thousand years ago, and we have almost reached this level, Ilin Dimitrov pointed out:
“They show a serious interest in wine, in was good food – something that we traditionally offer and have. We have representatives here and in shopping centers. Also appreciated good value for money that we can offer. We are a recognizable market and nice it made an impression that they praised the way we advertised in Israel – it was noticed from their side that the advertising was not good, in the necessary quantities and done in the right way”.
Minister Ilin Dimitrov announces that in March he will lead a delegation to Israel, made up of business representatives from the tourism sector, which will hold bilateral working meetings. One of the topics discussed is the possibility to restore the procedures of Israeli citizens to take place in the spa resorts of Bulgaria:
“My wish was if we could come to an agreement, as is the case in Germany, for example, as it is treated by their health funds, it turned out that this topic is familiar to them. I think that Bulgaria has a lot to offer, the minister supported this. Everything depends on how active we will be and what we will achieve,” said Ilin Dimitrov.
Israeli citizens mainly travel to our country for the purpose of rest and relaxation, the largest number of them are in July and August, but the interest in winter destinations in Bulgaria is increasing.
