Toulouse. The former geologist gives a second life to beautiful stones
La Toulousaine left her job as a geologist to create her jewelry brand.
After having been a geologist for years, Caroline created her brand Jayanti Bijoux. A magical adventure around stones. As a student, Caroline chose during her holidays to break stones on the Pic Saint-Loup in Montpellier. For ten years, this 45-year-old Toulouse woman was a geologist, specializing in soil depollution. She was also in charge of waste management during the dismantling of the infamous AZF factory. “My parents were tradesmen. They were proud of my job as an engineer. I learned a lot, but twenty-one years later, this job no longer met my expectations”. This is how, after having participated in the depollution of several sites in Toulouse (Langlade, Borderouge, Cartoucherie), Caroline turned to the creation of jewelry around raw and semi-precious precious stones: “At the beginning, I sometimes felt the impostor syndrome. Was I really legitimate in this profession? An activity which, in my opinion, is a bit of a continuation of my training as a geologist. Going from a masculine activity to a very feminine one”. For three years, this Toulousaine will carry out the two professions together before completely embarking on the development of her brand, Jayanti Bijoux, in January 2022. “A challenge that linked entrepreneurship and creativity”.
Since then, Caroline has been developing her brand on social networks, through her website as well as through pop-ups in department stores including Galeries Lafayette in Toulouse.
According to her, Jayanti Bijoux brings to life the five pillars of its creation: sharing and love of stones, quality, the main personalized fact and a fair price. “I like my customers to wear beautiful stones in an elegant, refined and timeless way. Today competition is fierce, consumption patterns have changed since covid and the economic crisis is hampering purchases. It is therefore necessary to offer the best”. With Jayanti Bijoux, we no longer know if it is the stones that come to meet Caroline or if it is she who comes to them. In any case, stone and heart intertwine for the best.
