Slavia faces another staff reduction. Who is on the verge of leaving the staples?
Slavia Prague played two friendly matches against the same opponent at the training camp in Portugal, but they did not play a match at the weekend and the typical warm-up did not take place. In which line-up could she play against Jablonec in the first round?
It is a tradition that the teams play a warm-up a week before the season, in which the coaches already deploy the line-up they want to build in the league and no longer experiment. A lot can be read from this.
However, Jindřich Trpišovský chose the opposite approach and Slavia did not play any warm-up games at the weekend. So, behind closed doors, the two stitched-together teams only shared it with each other. Slavia did not publish the line-up, only that Tecl scored twice and van Buren once for the blue team, Jureček and Olayinka scored for the red and white team.
In the winter training, Slavia played only three matches. First at home against Hradec Králové, then Servette faced Geneva twice in one day at the training camp.
Trpišovský tried and tested there, in the first match the line-up was as follows: Mandous – Schranz, Ogbu, Kričfaluši, Oscar – Traoré – Usor, Hronek, Provod, Ewerton – Tecl.
In the second match, the following eleven started: Kolář – Douděra, Ousou, Santos, D. Jurásek – Hromada, Ševčík, Jurečka, Lingr, M. Jurásek – van Buren. Olayinka, Talovjerov and young Šmiga alternated with Halinsky in both matches.
Assembly
It is extremely difficult to estimate the basic composition of the loaded squad for the first match with Jablonec. Let’s break down who could start post by post.
Goalkeeper – Ondřej Kolář
Slavia currently has two balanced goalkeepers. The season started with Aleš Mandous as the number one, but his injury sent Ondřej Kolář to the goal, who returned to his old form before the injury and apparently will not let go of his position.
Right back – David Douděra
Slavia brought the young David Pech to this position, but he was injured in the first match for three weeks and lost all concentration, so he will have a deficiency from the beginning and will have a hard time getting into the lineup.
Trpišovský still has David Douděra, Lukáš Masopust for the position of right back and can also use Ivan Schranz here. The former should probably jump in.
Stopper – Igoh Ogbu
The biggest reinforcement of the stapled. Slavia needed a new stopper and Igoh Ogbu fits all the requirements. He performed dominantly in the friendly against Servetta and should not be missing from the starting line-up.
Stopper – Aiham Ousou
The second stopper should be Aiham Ousou. Eduardo Santos has to regain his confidence after the autumn fiasco and Taras Kačaraba should be more of a substitute. The young Ondřej Křičfaluši also looked good at the training session, for whom a league loan would be appropriate.
Left back – David Jurásek
Captain Jan Bořil is slowly returning to the workload, but the position of left back is currently well occupied. David Jurásek was one of the best players in the fall, he also worked on the defensive side in addition to his great offensive. His competition, Oscar Dorley, should start more in the midfield.
Defensive midfielder – Jakub Hromada
Jakub Hromada got a chance at the end of autumn and grabbed it by the scruff of the neck. He played in a pair with Oscar Dorley and together they complemented each other well, but the recovery of some players brought an increase.
Central midfielder – Petr Ševčík
Trpišovský can set up the midfield in several ways. Either the pair Hromada-Oscar, or bet on the recovered Ševčík with Provod, the reliable Ibrahim Traoré is also available, and Tomáš Holeš should also recover soon. Ševčík, when he is healthy, belongs to the starting line-up.
Offensive midfielder – Ondřej Lingr
Slavia also has a lot of pressure on the underarm. Ondřej Lingr should be a sure place, but the recovered Lukáš Provod and also the new reinforcement Petr Hronek are pushing for his place.
Right midfielder – Václav Jurečka
Although he is more of a center forward, he can also play on the wing and it can be expected that Trpišovský will want to use Van Buren’s form and get space in the base. In addition, coaches praised Jurečka a lot in the fall for his combativeness, aggressiveness and pulling others to better performances.
Left midfielder – Matěj Jurásek
Maybe a bit of a surprising move for some, when both Peter Olayinka and Ewerton are available for this position, but Jurásek is a great talent who must be given space and then he can repay Slavia in a big way, because the talent lies dormant in him. Moses Usora’s departure made it clear that the coaches believe in him, when Trpišovský directly said that it was also to give Jurásek more space.
Peter Olayinka is a long-time leader of the team, but he will leave for Serbia for free in the summer, so giving him space at the expense of young players with potential does not make much sense. However, if Slavia does not succeed, the coaches will certainly use Olayinka’s services. However, Jurásek could get space at the beginning.
Forward – Mick van Buren
Mick van Buren has always been a striker to Trpišovský’s taste. A huge worker who spends the whole game in the run-up, works without saying a word, is great in the press and runs a lot of kilometers. But he lacked numbers, didn’t score goals and threw away too many chances.
However, he seems to have overcome this weakness in the autumn in Liberec. He scored 9 goals in 15 matches, and added a hat-trick in the cup. In the warm-up, he scored the only goal in the second game against Servetta. It’s that he gets a chance in the base at the beginning.
We must not forget Stanislav Tecl, also the scorer of nine autumn goals. Jurečka could also start at point guard, and Ivan Schranz, who returned from a serious injury, is also in the game.
