We are not creating fear, we are responding to the voice of the people. I guess I can live with that, says the head of Babiš’s campaign
What we also ask in the interviews with Tünde Bartha:
- Why is Babiš’s campaign threatening war?
- Who is in Babiš’s election team and what scared them in Jaroslav Bašta’s campaign?
- According to her, why is there still no better alternative than Orbán in Hungary?
- How did she meet Havel and is the current tone of the campaign not personally unpleasant?
Why have you been working for Andrej Babiš for so long? Isn’t it challenging sometimes? I myself experienced him yelling at me…
It’s terribly demanding. And it’s been a long time. They say that after six or seven years one should change jobs, so we’ll see. After the election, maybe we will both evaluate it.
I have been working with him for seven years because I still believe in it. When I go to sleep, I always tell myself that I have done at least one good thing, because sometimes I manage to change something in my head, to convince him of something. I believe there are things that maybe didn’t happen or won’t happen because I scream and say stop, not like this.
If Andrej Babiš does not win the election, will he stay with him?
As I said, I’ve been with him for seven years, and if we don’t win, maybe we’ll take a break from each other for a while and gather strength.
Part of society is strongly opposed to Andrej Babiš. He has spoken about you publicly several times now in connection with the campaigns, most recently at a press conference on Saturday. Aren’t you worried that you won’t get rid of the label “Babiš’s man”?
I do not think so. People know me, and let’s be honest, I worked for Zdenek Bakala for six years, and yet people I know from those days still write to me, invite me for a beer.
I organized Václav Havel’s 75th birthday. Actually, with an exaggeration, I grew up in a Prague cafe. I personally greeted Madeleine Albright at the airport and looked after her. Some relationships are definitely not over.
On the other hand, society is unfortunately divided, I lost a lot of friends. Some neighbors stopped me
