Vernissage of the exhibition of the finalists of the Painting Palette competition
20/01/2023
The finalists of the competition had the opportunity to take part in an art workshop in Winternitz’s villa and then, together with their parents, experience an inspiring opening in the crowded marble hall of Portheimka, in which, on this occasion, Petr Hamerský, the winner of Talent Prague 5 from 2015, played the cello. The 4th year of the Painting Palette offered an unforgettable experience to creative children and talented youth who live in Prague 5 and participate in the competition. This year, approximately 120 children between the ages of 5 and 16 in three age categories took part in the competition.
“This year, for the first time, the winners of the Painter’s Palette were announced in Reiner’s hall, whose allegorical frescoes are the dominant feature, and in my opinion, these are exactly the occasions when we should open this gem of Prague 5 to the public and give our up-and-coming artists a dignified thank you. Children’s works are diverse, inspiring and full of colors. They reveal that the children worked enthusiastically. It is great that we have so many supporters of the art field in Prague 5. The interest in the competition and especially in the weekend workshop was unprecedented,” says councilor for culture Ing. Stephen Rattay.
In their initial efforts, you will find not only children’s fantasy, but also different perspectives on this year’s assignment. The children had the task of learning how to help people, animals, friends and other nations. “It enables the participants to have direct and intensive contact with various painting techniques under professional pedagogical guidance,” adds Viktorie Rampal Dzurenko to the competition.
The winner of the competition will receive a holiday with his parents on the Portuguese island of Madeira and a number of other prizes.
The winners of the competition then received as the main prize a voucher for accommodation in Madeira, Portugal, where they will be able to unpack their sketchbooks.
The exhibition in gallery “D” will last from January 20 to February 21, 2023.
