Six departments of Occitanie on the alert orange snow and ice: your traffic conditions

It snowed in the evening from Wednesday to Thursday. Falls of snow, to the plain which did not hinder traffic near Toulouse. On the other hand, it was much more complicated to ride in the south of the department and in our neighbors of Tarn, Aveyron, Ariège, Gers and Hautes-Pyrénées.
This Thursday, January 19, 2023, six departments of Occitanie are placed in snow and ice orange vigilance: Tarn-et-Garonne, Lot, Aveyron, Tarn, Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales.
Here are your traffic conditions this morning:
In Haute Garonne
This night, traffic was prohibited for heavy goods vehicles on the A 64 motorway, the most affected by the snowfall.
This restriction is still in place this Thursday morning. “The trucks are stopped at the Muret toll in the direction of the Pyrenees”, indicates Vinci Autoroutes.
Traffic conditions are complicated in the south of the department. The valley towards Luchon is concerned. Access to the stations is difficult. Equipment is mandatory.
“During the night, the snowfall continued. From the first heights, around 500/600m, we often raise 5 cm or more as in Campistrous. On the Lannemezan plateau, we find 7 cm of fresh snow”, observes Météo France.
