It was the first time since his election that Jannick Niel sent his wishes to the population. And the latter had responded en masse to the invitation filling the Beauregard room in Cherré-Au. For this first, the mayor represented the councilors one by one.
A couple in the caretaker’s house
The elected official began his speech with very good news for the municipality and in particular his Haut Buisson Castle.
Fundraising via the Heritage Foundation continues. Thank you to the generous private, corporate and patronage donors, in particular the Principality of Monaco, which has just supplemented this fund with a donation of €500,000.
Half a million euros for the former home of Alice of Monaco. Just that ! So, Cherré-Au will need it for this abandoned building.
Jannick Niel publishes as a reminder: “the rehabilitation of caretaker’s house completed allows a couple to occupy this atypical house in its preserved architecture by offering the best conditions of comfort and isolation”.
The castle safe
In parallel, the secured of the castle continues. A fence, surmounted by a mesh, prevents intrusions and “allows companies to work in complete safety”.
Securing carried out by Le Bâti Mans.
The mayor uses to salute the work of other companies. Among them, Lefèvre, who “has just finished resuming the exterior facades and window frames. But also the carpenter Bruneau. This will “complete in the coming months the coverage of the entire castle”.
“A few months late”
Jannick Niel also took the opportunity to announce that “the construction site is a few months late due to an additional mission for the unsealing batch essential to the continuation of the construction site”.
In addition to this generous gift from the Monaco principaty, Cherré-Au is discounting “other larger subsidies thanks to the registration of the castle and its surroundings as historical monuments”.
Depending on the aids and financial capabilities of the municipality, Jannick Niel envisages four stages of work. Without revealing too much about the nature of his desires.
The mayor explains all the same: “the idea being to renovate the ground floor to make it a house of illustrious people in memory of Princess Alice of Monaco, without forgetting the gardens which are intended to be restored and enhanced”.
