Transfer is on hold for the time being
Will the Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt move again on the transfer market? After an SGE professional was initially traded as a hot farewell candidate, staying on the Main now seems to be possible.
The future of 23-year-old Roman Luca Pellegrini has been rumored for months about a premature exit from Eintracht Frankfurt. The left-back is actually on loan from Juventus to the Hessians until the end of the season, but several factors recently spoke for a lightning farewell in winter.
According to Italian media reports, Lazio Rome is primarily interested. Pellegrini, for his part, is said not to be averse to moving back to his hometown, despite being trained at league rivals AS Roma.
In addition, according to “Il Messaggero”, neither Eintracht Frankfurt nor its actual employer Juventus should resist a move to Lazio. Juve expects the rail player to get more match practice than before the World Cup break, when he only made seven starting XI appearances in the Bundesliga.
Transfer still pending
And in Frankfurt, head coach Oliver Glasner didn’t always get along well with Pellegrini in the first few months, on the Japan tour in November he is said to have clashed with the player according to “Bild”.
According to the report, the fact that a change to Lazio has still not taken place is solely due to the Serie A club. Lazio had to make room in the squad before Pellegrini could move into coach Maurizio Sarri’s side.
The first candidate is the Algerian Mohamed Fares, who came to Lazio in 2020 after a good season for SPAL, but was never really able to gain a foothold there. He wasn’t even on the pitch for Lazio in 2022/23. However, since no offer has yet been received for the left-back, the Pellegrini deal is said to be on hold for the time being.
