Alcohol ban Noordwijk extended by month | Brussels
SchaerbeekBetween December 15 and January 15, it was prohibited in Noordwijk to sell alcohol between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Schaerbeek mayor Cécile Jodogne (Défi) will extend that ban for a month.
In the sleep of the murder of the young inspector Thomas Monjoie, several measures have been taken to improve safety in the neighborhood. For example, it was forbidden to gather on public roads with more than 5 people and systematic identity checks were allowed in public spaces. There is also a ban on the sale of alcohol gold, as described in a regulation that came into effect on December 8.
Those measures are now extended by a month, until February 15. Date decided Schaarbeek mayor Cécile Jodogne (Défi). A police report dated January 12 showed that crime in the Noordwijk decreased slightly as a result of the ordinance, and there were less intelligent gatherings around places where alcohol is sold. According to that report, the measures would also increase satisfaction among local shops and traders.
