what awaits you this week in Dijon and Côte-d’Or
Snow and ice yellow vigilance
From 9 p.m. on Monday, after an overall rainy day, the Côte-d’Or will be placed on snow and ice yellow vigilance by Météo France. According to Stéphane Nedeljkovitch, meteorologist at MétéoNews, a small superficial layer of snow could appear in the evening on the Châtillonnais side, favored by the drop in temperatures (1-2 degrees expected). For the moment, this vigilance is active until the night of Tuesday to Wednesday.
On Tuesday, after a lull in the morning, further precipitation may intensify in the afternoon and the thermostat is expected to drop. This is why the snow could increasingly take the place of the rain above 200-300 meters of altitude. A layer of snow could cling to the ground in these areas. On the plain, a small superficial layer on cold surfaces, such as roofs or grass, is not excluded but will be difficult to hold.
Wednesday, snowiest day
A more notable snowfall is expected on Wednesday. With the drop in temperatures and very humid soils, you will have to be wary of the ice in the morning. Small snowfalls should invite themselves in the department by removing 2, 3 or even 4 centimeters to the plain. With a thermometer hovering around zero degrees, the snow should last until the weekend.
Indeed, temperatures will drop significantly from the weekend. According to Stéphane Nedeljkovitch, the minima could reach -7 degrees on Sunday. So be careful because, from Thursday, morning frosts will be on the program! This much more wintry episode than what we have experienced lately could last until the beginning of next week.
