MINUTE BY MINUTE
19th minute Ferreira defends Rosta’s jumper… 10 shots, 8 saves. Fernandes hits the crossbar from a free kick, that’s what was needed.
19th minute Hungarian timeout. The Hungarian national team scored 7 against 6 with three starters.
18th minute Bánhidi shoots at the goalkeeper, but it’s a free throw. Will sell it Fernandes he runs to the six, shoots with his right into the left corner.
17th minute Bad block from Bánhidi, Sipos blinks big. Costa’s shot slips into the goal from Székely’s left hand, 9–2.
16 minutes That was not necessary, Costa from a Chinese piece is effective, then Székely accidentally kicks him in the face. Videography, it can’t be red, but not even two minutes. That’s right, go on.
The main virtue of the Iberian team is the good physicality of the players, their defense is the toughest among our three opponents in the group, and they play handball with many variations in attack as well. The seven-on-six game is one of his greatest strengths, even if he rarely used it against the Hungarian team last year, which learned to defend against him quite well. We managed to compete physically with Iceland, and the same will be needed against Portugal.
15th minute BODO! Shoot with the right into the left, i.e. the far corner in front of the six. 6-2! I had to, like a… so I had to.
14th minute Lékai’s pass is very bad, Gomes passes from the air to Costa, who shoots with his left into the top right after diving in from the six.
14. minute Hungarian time request, in English.
13th minute Costa shoots with the left upper right, indefensible, Bodó sells, Fernandes it can run up to six, it doesn’t get worse. 6-1!
12th minute Lékai fights off a seven, then shoots with his right at the base of the left post.
12 minutes let’s face it Gomes his cross is brilliant, he jumps up, from shoulder height, shoots the upper left with his right, with a loose wrist.
11th minute Sita rises to shoot through… they figure it out, right? Poor Costa falls hugely next to Síta, there is no card.
10 minutes Ancsin defends himself inside, Arera shoots to the upper left with the left. 3-1!
9th minute We’re defending well again, Lékai is on the rise… but Ferreira can’t stand it today.
7th minute Sieve passes for Banhidin, from a stop. 2-1! Ferreira’s cross from Sita. 6 shots, 5 saves…
6th minute Lékai would surprise the goalkeeper from the ground, but he can’t. Székely kicks Areira’s shot from under the bar with an amazing feat. MIRACLE GOAL!
5th minute Gomes his break ends in a bomb goal, 2-0.
4th minute Ancsin drops Lékai’s pass, Székely defends Gomes’ flick, but Szita’s cross is kicked by Ferreira in front of the bottom left…
3 minutes Fernandes darting into the bottom left, Areira hit the crossbar from the edge. 1-0!
3 minutes Pedro shoots at the goalkeeper after a good defense! Costa needs to be looked after, he got together with Borges, that’s how he sold the ball.
2 minutes The Hungarian camp of 150 people is loud. Ancsin’s cross to Ferreira’s goalkeeper.
2 minutes Gomes shoots over the crossbar.
1ST MINUTE RED CARD!
1 minute Sipos hits Costa, who was tricking him with a sniper rifle, on the neck, video recording… It doesn’t promise much.
1. MINUTE THE MATCH HAS STARTED!
Ours is in pure red, the opponent is in pure white.
NOT HERE. The Portuguese national team captain, Paulo Pereira he could not be on the bench in the first two rounds due to an earlier ban. The specialist thus watched the first-round match against Iceland from a booth, but suspicions arose that he communicated with his assistant, Paulo Fidalgo, through an earpiece. The second coach came up with a surprising explanation. According to him, he needed earplugs because of his previous ear problem, so that he could filter out the inquisitive noise from the stands full of enthusiastic Icelandic fans. MORE HERE!
The gate had to be healed SOS, but it was done. They pushed the players back in the previous game, but it screwed up.
“We didn’t celebrate much, but we hope we will have the opportunity later. Against Iceland, I wasn’t able to rotate the team as much, we also tried new forms of attack, but we didn’t score in easy situations, and we got a lot of two-minute exhibitions, so we had to play with a man disadvantage. On the other hand, when we had a village of six, everything went well. In the second half, we just did what we had to do, and when Mikler Roli switched things up, the amazing saves came, and our defense got stronger again. The opponent was up by five at the break, but the guys worked well in the first half, I told them if they continue like this, we can come back. Portugal’s defense is different from Iceland’s, it’s not as aggressive, but it’s stronger, with huge players, there’s almost no room in the wall.” CHEMA RODRÍGUEZ
“When I went into the dressing room during the break, I felt that the five goals were a bit much, but Chema was very calm, which I found a bit strange, but I think he felt that if we don’t give as many balls in the second half as in the first, and those figures let’s play in the sequel, they really work, then the translation can come together – said the player of OTP Bank-Pick Szeged. – He asked us to push until the end of the match, to fight for thirty minutes, not to give up, what will happen will happen, and he also told us what and how to play. Everything came together, our defense came together, our attack became fluid, and Mikler Roli also defended fantastically in the last ten minutes.”
Máté Lékai: Everyone trusts the other, no matter how they played before
A feat at its best! – Note by Gábor Thury
“Our game was fine for a long time, as we were able to create and find chances, but there was a tactical element that Chema said during the break that it wasn’t working, let’s let it go. Thus, for the second half, only the five or six figures remained, which we were able to play throughout, and the key was the defense and goalkeeping performance of the last ten minutes. Richard Bodó, who didn’t play well in the first half, couldn’t find his place, but in the second half he magically got back up, scoring three goals in five minutes, all at very important moments.
This was in stark contrast to Chema Rodríguez, the captain of the Hungarian men’s handball team, whose every unexpected move in the world group match against Iceland paid off, his team won the match in ten minutes against a strong team that played for fifty minutes and could have decided it at least five times. the meeting, instead he became completely bewildered at the start and lost from a six-goal lead.
It was comforting to watch the Icelandic captain, Gudmundur Gudmundsson, sculpting by the coastline, who just stood on the bench with his hands on his hips, watching his team suffer against ours in the last minutes, and his resignation gestures showed that he knows exactly that he can’t do anything, he can’t help it into the match so that it ends well from their point of view.
As is well known, the Hungarian men’s handball team first defeated South Korea and then Iceland, so the Hungarian men’s handball team will compete against Portugal on Monday to win Group D at the World Championship, jointly organized by Sweden. The day before the match, our team prepared for the third round of the group in a good mood.
The first three places in the groups advance to the semi-finals, from which the first two places in the groups advance to the quarter-finals.
