Verona officially sign Dutch striker Jayden Braaf from Borussia Dortmund
Hellas Verona has made official the Dutch striker born in 2002 Jayden Braaf from the second team of Borussia Dortmund, which plays in the German third division. An element, on closer inspection, is not new to Serie A. The striker boasts 4 appearances in the second half of the 2020-2021 season with the Udinese shirt, a club that – at the time – took him temporarily from Manchester City. Braaf also scored a goal – the one that closed the match – in the 4-2 draw by the Friulian bianconeri against Benevento at the “Vigorito” stadium. It was April 25, 2021.
This is the official press release from the Verona club: “Hellas Verona FC announces that it has acquired from Borussia Dortmund, on a temporary basis until 30 June 2023 – with the option to buy – the right to the sports performance of Dutch forward Jayden Braaf. Born on 31 August 2002 in Amsterdam, the striker originally from Suriname grew up in the academies of Ajax, AFC Amsterdam and PSV Eindhoven, only to be picked up in 2018 by Manchester City. He thus gained numerous experiences in the youth divisions of the Citizens, with whom he plays in Premier League 2 , UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup. In the same period he also totaled 15 appearances and 6 goals with the Under 17 and Under 18 selections of the Dutch national team. In the second half of the 2020/21 season he moved to Udinese, and made his Serie A debut among professionals collecting, at the end of the season, 4 appearances and 1 goal.Subsequently he moved to Germany, to Borussia Dortmund, with whom he played 7 games in the current season strength in the second team of the Giallonero club”.
