Lyon: Saturday, hundreds of demonstrators against the pension reform

Demonstrators took to the streets of Lyon until mid-afternoon on Saturday January 14, to mark their opposition to the pension reform.
A procession of demonstrators opposed to the pension reform undertook a two-hour march in Lyon, Saturday January 14, to finally stop at Place Bellecour and leave the place around 4 p.m., indicates BFM Lyon. Chants against Emmanuel Macron and against the police, anti-reform slogans… No case of physical violence was declared but some damage to street furniture was noted, following the movements of demonstrators who tried to escape the forces of the ‘ ‘order. The demonstration was undeclared.
Around Lyon, a few dozen yellow vests are also mounted on the roundabouts of several cities, including Beynost, Givors and Villefranche-sur-Saône, to demonstrate their opposition to the pension reform.
The next official rally in opposition to the reform will take place in Lyon, Thursday January 19, at 11 a.m., in front of the Manufacture des tabacs (Lyon 8th). All the unions have called for a national strike for this date, just after the announcement of the content of the future reform by Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne.
