Polestar opens a showroom made of snow in Finland
Polestar, the company that started life as a Nordic Touring Car racing team, has opened “the first quality retail snow farm” in the Arctic Circle. For those of us who have no idea what Space is, Polestar — which now makes luxury electric cars — says it’s a brand store of sorts, except you can’t buy a car there because it sells its vehicles online.
Built with 105,944 cubic feet (3,000 cubic meters) of snow in three weeks from the Ounasvaara ski resort, Snow Space opened its doors on January 10 and welcomes guests until February 26, when it will be dismantled and the snow removed. returned to the ski slopes.
Inside the 6.5-foot (2.0-meter) thick walls, the electric car company displayed its Polestar 2 EV, along with wheels, suspension parts and brakes made into ice sculptures by local artists.

The 39-foot-tall (12-meter) frozen showroom was inspired by the minimalist Scandinavian design of Polestar’s headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, and was built by Finland’s Frozen Innovation based on designs by Polestar’s architects.
“The city of Rovaniemi is known for its wonderful design. We wanted to honor this by creating a beautiful work that was inspired by our brand’s minimalist and clean design language. The choice of building material was easy due to the location and our desire to use round materials: of course it had to be built from snow,” says Polestar Finland’s Marketing Manager Martin Österberg.

Snow Space is the second Polestar space in Finland and one of about 130 spaces worldwide.
