Arrested by the State Police
The State Police’s prevention and contrast services to drug dealing continue throughout the province by Police Chief Maurizio Auriemma. On Wednesday, agents from the San Giovanni police station and those from the Rifredi police station arrested two men in Florence: one in the centre, but from the Empoli area, arrested after being caught wearing cocaine and ecstasy tablets; the other, traced to the Cascine and accompanied directly to Sollicciano to serve a sentence precisely in the context of crimes of the same type. A woman was instead found passed out in a car in South Florence and, once her health conditions were ascertained, found in possession of drugs. Also in the Cascine park, the dog units found and seized a pound and a half of so-called cannabinoids, including hashish and marijuana. The work of the State Police was then also concentrated in the hinterland and so, again on Wednesday, the police officers of the Sesto Fiorentino police station carried out a series of targeted checks in Campi Bisenzio. Two Moroccan citizens immediately fell into the police trap while they were “walking” in via Tintori. The first, 23 years old, immediately admitted that he had only one dose of hashish in his pocket and was therefore immediately reported as a user. The other, a 38-year-old, had a switchblade knife in his pocket with evident hashish residues. As soon as the latter saw the bad turn, however, he began to insistently ask to go to the bathroom. The policemen accompanied him, but without obviously missing out on the fact that he was hiding half a pound of hashish and 12 doses of cocaine in his briefs, ready for the investigators to be sold on the streets. The foreign citizen was then arrested for illegal possession of the seized substance.
