about the “sovereignty” of Russia according to Patrushev’s models
During his regular New Year’s address to the citizens of Russia, Vladimir Putin paid special attention to the problem of the country’s “sovereignty”.
“We all characterize the reliability of the margin of safety … This is aimed at strengthening our sovereignty in the priority area – the economy. “Our struggle for ourselves, for our interests and for our future is, of course, a servant that encourages states to strive for justice, a multipolar world order,” Putin said amid floods in the military uniforms of Russian citizens.
The topic of political, economic, financial and humanitarian activities from the world, and the exclusive independence of Russia – from the “collective entire West”, was devoted to the publication of “Arguments and Official Facts” of the Ministry of the Russian Federation. That is why the theses outlined in this conversation should not be considered “the personal opinion of a private person” as daily speeches on the air of Russian state television channels. Most likely, this is a summary of the foreign policy councils of the bodies of the Russian Federation on immediate affairs.
The correspondent of the Voice of America Russian Service wrote comments about the most frequently occurring moments of this interview.
“In Putin’s last speech at the Valdai Club, it was said that the West is pursuing the goal of brushing Russia off the political map”
Political scientist Alexander Morozov found nothing new in the published text in the research by what has been observed in recent months by the Kremlin speakers. “There are three themes. The first is that the conflict between Russia and the West is of an irresistible metaphysical nature, the second is that the West plays off Russia and Ukraine and takes responsibility for it, and the third is that the West itself controls some kind of “global corporations” interested in war. Dmitry Medvedev is preparing the ground for the Kremlin to intensify hostilities. This interview should be viewed as an event related to the fact that Putin instructed the Ministry of Defense to submit a report on the needs of the army in the light of hostilities in 2023 by February 1, ”Morozov clarifies in an interview with a Voice of America Russian Service correspondent.
The expert’s attention is drawn to the following excerpt from the publication: “There is no place for our country in the West. Russia annoys a handful of world powers by absorbing resources, expanding territory, smart and self-sufficient people who love their country, its traditions and history … the world.
In this regard, Morozov noted that this topic was repeatedly raised in Putin’s speeches.
“In Putin’s last speech at the Valdai Club in the summer of 2022, it was bluntly stated that the West sets itself the goal of brushing it off the political map. Of course, this does not correspond to any reality, all this is perceived as rhetoric that requires the Kremlin to accept, because the West has never set itself the goal of Russia. It can be said that the goals were directly opposite. There are many complaints against Western countries that they have been working with the Putin regime for too long, not only not striving for this regime, but breaking the boundaries of cooperation in various areas, and only Russia’s aggression against Ukraine makes this cooperation no longer possible,” the political scientist believes.
Morozov summarizes that, regardless of how things are in reality, the so-called “Kremlin elders” in their interpretations of reality have long opened all the facets of thought.
“I have already heard from Patriarch Kirill that Russia has never attacked anyone”
Deputy Director of the Juliusza Mieroszewski Center for Dialogue (Centrum Dialogu im. Juliusza Mieroszewskiego) Lukasz Adamski (Lukasz Adamski) believes that one of the most influential people in Russia, which is the representative of the special services, Nikolai Patrushev, has a sober feedback on what is happening in the world. But from an interview with Arguments and Facts, it is clear that he has no grades. “He is largely obsessed with certain values and phobias of the Soviet people. And now Patrushev is trying, it seems to me, he sincerely believes that what he says is the truth, ”the Polish expert throws up his hands.
In an interview with the correspondent of the Voice of America Russian Service, Lukasz Adamski emphasized that all the passages that Western countries do not have sovereignty and that they are ruled by “global corporations” are very reminiscent of Soviet propaganda of the 1920s and 1930s. In line with similar examples, fascism in Germany arose because of the economic policies of Western big business entrepreneurs.
“This is all a repetition of ancient stamping. And the slogans about seizing sovereignty, “economic sovereignty” and so on, in the current world, when it is very intersected, within the walls of the Internet are simply untenable, because it is impossible to build an autocratic situation in one country, because everything is interconnected. And if someone sincerely believes that Russia is appointed to introduce the so-called “national sovereign control” regarding the economy, and that most countries of the world will choose the Russian path, and not the Western one, these are very big illusions,” said the deputy director of the Juliusz Meroszewski Center .
Lukasz Adamski also mentioned those fragments of an interview belonging to the Russian Security Council, where, speaking about the aggression of the Russian army against Ukraine, he states that the Ukrainians themselves are to blame for this: “They say, if they stop responding and realize that they are tools of the West, then it will be more lives saved. But on the other hand, this is not new in the rhetoric of the authorities.”
The correspondent of the Voice of America Russian Service asked the Deputy Director of the Center for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Caution to pay special attention to Patrushev’s special statement: “Western countries plan to involve Russia, and in the end just erase it from the political map of the world. Today they still shout loudly that Russia should not remain united, it must be enclosed in the framework of Muscovy of the 15th century. To do this, they do not disdain anything, including inventing a completely false history of our country, shifting their responsibility for the oppression of the peoples of peoples, which Russia has never done.”
Lukasz Adamski, that there is nothing new here either. “The fact that Russia has never attacked anyone, I already heard this year from Patriarch Kirill, one of the ideological employees of the Kremlin. At the expense of the fact that “He wants to drive Russia into the border of the XV century” – it turns out that the West wants to deprive her of Siberia? This is some kind of nonsense, because the West and the United States, first of all, fear that in the event of the destruction of the country, nuclear weapons, the maintenance of the Kremlin, it will uncontrollably spread in various cases and it may be taken over by criminal groups. And this will create as much information about the world as the Kremlin’s policy itself,” he said.
The Polish expert believes that the West is just afraid of the collapse of Russia, and, according to influential Western politicians, the collapse of Russia due to the actions of the Kremlin and Putin.
“And then other subjects of the Russian Federation will also declare that they can not take responsibility for the death penalty and why Moscow prohibits the use of the right to
self-determination? Putin’s special policies can follow the rules. Which, however, is noted by all sensible Russian observers. A year ago, General Leonid Ivashov published an article in Nezavisimaya Gazeta in which he warned that in the event of war, it was Russia’s plot that would be protected, that is, in the event of some actions by the “Kremlin, not the West,” reminds Lukasz Adamski.
And at the end of the conversation about cooperation, that a high-ranking Russian inspector, as secretary of the Security Council, should use reliable information, and not conformity with 19th-century Slavophilism, imperialism and “homo sovieticus”.
“The beginning of this interview reminded me a lot of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion”
Director of the Hungarian Institute for Economic and Analytical Research Oeconomus Anton Bendarzhevsky believes that both Nikolai Patrushev and Dmitry Medvedev are among those public politicians who, against the background of the “special military operation of the Russian army,” make all sorts of high-profile reviews in order to remind themselves and their coverage in the news feeds. “And this can only be achieved in the presence of odious and seemingly inadequate infections,” the expert believes.
And he adds that ex-President of Russia Medvedev has been repeating in his publications for about a year that Ukraine, it turns out, does not exist as an independent state and will soon disappear from the political map of the world.
“So the statement of Patrushev by an official explains why Russia unleashed this war. And secondly, it makes it difficult to find out that some backstage force rules the world, which is not subject even to politics from the influence of countries. And all these stories of Patrushev have already flashed in Putin’s statements, with the exception of the echoes of his thoughts flashed in articles of the Soviet and even pre-Soviet period. In particular, the beginning of this interview, so that I was very much reminded of the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion”, where it is mentioned that there is some group of Jewish elites that governs the international administration and everything behind the scenes, its interests in the world were taken into account, and everything was done in such a way, as they want. And in this interview, some group of people that rules the world flashes by, and he (Nikolai Patrushev – A.P.) says that even in US politicians everyone is blocking this group of people, which divides nations into a “golden billion” and third countries,” the director of the Oeconomus Institute commented on an interview with the Security Council of the Russian Federation in an interview with a correspondent of the Voice of America Russian Service.
In Anton Bendarzhevsky’s reference to the fragment, Nikolay Patrushev specifically says: “What an example, dozens of Eurorent deputies accidentally fell under the control of George Soros’s structure, and the European Commission, by order of one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, created a number of corruption schemes for the purchase of vaccines worth tens of billions of euros . Obviously, the real power is in the hands of resource-owning clans and transnational corporations… the American state is only an implementation for a conglomerate of existing corporations that rule the country and regulate influence over the world.
The publication “Russia is waiting for the future in Muscovy” contains the following line: “Our country is on the path of building a reliable, modern, independent economy in order to achieve economic sovereignty. Russia has all the resources for this… Financial independence is important for Russia, as well as technological sovereign control. We have plenty of our Lomonosovs and Kulibins. The problem is to find them in time.”
The correspondent of the Voice of America Russian Service suggested his interlocutor in the investigation: is it possible to talk about economic and financial independence in the 21st study? And does this not mean a slide into isolationism along the North Korean model?
Anton Bendarzhevsky agreed that there is such a danger, but at the same time, that in the conditions of modern Russia, obtaining a sample of the DPRK cannot be. “Still, in view of their size and due to the seizure of their energy resources in Russia, they will always be found among buyers who, despite the decision to check the resources, acquire, and in return, like China or India, implement their technologies. That is, full export will not work, but everything goes to the fact that economic independence actually turns into even greater dependence. But not from some group of investor companies that compete in the Russian market, but from several players who have no participants, and as a result they get everything they want from Russia. And as a result, Russia is lagging behind only under the contract,” concludes the director of the Institute for Economic Research and Analysis “Oeconomus”.
